A retired physician, Richard L. Mabry, M.D. began his writing career in non-fiction, but now writes medical thrillers and is a proud member of the International Thriller Writers. Richard serves on the board of ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers), and when he's not writing, he's busy being husband and grandfather, working on his golf game, and doing the hundred-and-one other things retired people do—busier now than he ever was while in practice—and loving it. Doc, as he's affectionately known, spends leisure moments in the garden oasis created by his wife, Kay, beneath the sprawling live oak in their Frisco, Texas backyard. Find out more at

Deb, Thanks for this opportunity to share what a back yard can look like in the midst of a long Texas dry spell of 100 degree days. Kay gets all the credit, and I get to enjoy what she's created.
Thanks for sharing your and Kay's garden spot. It's beautiful and looks like it offers relief from summer's heat!
