Prolific author Melody Carlson and her husband, Chris, are in the process of packing up for a move, but while we wait for garden photos of their new home, here's a last view of their cozy cabin-style home in the beautiful Cascade Mountain area of the Pacific Northwest. Nearby, the Carlsons' grown sons and a granddaughter, along with two “re-homed” pets (a yellow Labrador retriever Audrey and a Maine coon cat named Harry) keep life interesting. Melody's writing studio is in a separate building next to the courtyard (a garden area that’s off limits to the voracious deer). The window behind her desk looks out into the ponderosa pine forest, where she sees deer, squirrels, rabbits, and an occasional raccoon.
