Welcome!

No doubt about it, writing novels is a dream job. But it's not all fun and games. When it's time for a break or change of scenery, many novelists retreat to a special garden spot in the backyard, front porch, courtyard or garden shed. We welcome you into the outdoor spaces that offer us respite and inspiration. So grab a mug of coffee or a cup of tea and come sit with us a spell. . .

[Authors are presented in alphabetical order, so be sure to scroll through all of the more than seventy gardens, or use the sidebar links to navigate to your favorite authors. Each week, one author's garden spaces and latest book are featured at the top of the blog.]

What a beautiful site! It combines everything I was looking for, Christian writers and gardens! And so many familiar faces from my hours of browsing the web. I've just entered the world of blogging as well as writing...at least for anyone other than me! I'd love to have you check out my site.~~~Deb

What a beautiful site! Thanks for sharing all these wonderful gardens. Now I have the itch, once more, to get into mine and create a new one for 2008, as well. I just have to wait for the snow to melt first, though!

Blessings,

Eileen

Eileen, so glad you stopped by. And I hope you'll come back and visit from time to time. Throughout the spring and summer, especially, I hope to update many of the gardens with new photos, including the book covers of each author's newest novel. And as always, new authors and books are added regularly.

I look forward to seeing your updates. As our thaw begins, I'll be taking a peak at this site often to fill my garden needs and get some ideas, too.

Blessings,

Eileen

What a treat! The variety of foliage from different regions of the United States and from the various countries represented fascinated me. From expansive to compact, these gardens are evidence of the creativity of God and a demonstration of the resourcefulness and innovation of the novelist gardeners. Thanks for putting this site together…I will be back to find updates!

Is that pink flower a Bougenvillia? (sp) I love it. Last year was the first time ever I've had flowers. All those years on the ranch, I never got to plant flowers. The gophers either killed them, or the wind beat them to death. So, I'mn really enjoying this site. Thanks. Oh, and add my name to drawing, please.

Debra, the pink flowers in the photo above are bleeding hearts. They grow on a little hill in our rock garden. The blooms don't last very long, but they are beautiful while they're in bloom! The leaves look similar to Columbine, which also grows in the rock garden.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments. So glad you're enjoying our garden spots!
